The sacrifice of the emotions and their time can never be repaid. They protect our freedom and pay a price by giving up on precious moments with their families.

Aimaan Grieten has been fighting ISIS offshore for past few months. This made him go away from his son who has Down Syndrome and who terribly missed him. Explaining ISIS and their work is a difficult to any child let alone be a special needs one.

So, when Aimaan returned, he decided to surprise his son at his school. He stood behind completely dressed in uniform and asked his son permission to sit next to him. That kid took a moment to understand the reality and when he says ‘Dad’ in a surprised tone laced with so much love and longing. This moment will surely warm your heart. They hug and the reunion is so beautiful. We are sure that everyone who saw that moment in reality had a tear in their eyes.

Later, he introduced his Dad to everyone in the class. The euphoria of the moment was so palpable. People later queued up to get a picture with Aimaan and his son.
