Soul stirring tale of how wife helps quadruple amputee soldier win back his life
Often when we look at a couple’s pictures we are aw-ed at the love and bond that they share. We are convinced that the couple has their life set and has everything happy and fulfilling around them. With Taylor Morris and Danielle Kelly dancing around, merrily hugging and affectionate of each other in the picture it seems that their life is perfect but what lies beneath is a powerful couple who fought with the odds to make this happy today happen!
The story of Taylor Morris and Danielle Kelly is a rather tough one of two 23 year olds who knew where their life was going until one day when life took a U-turn and made them ponder over it again.
It was the third of May when Taylor used to work in EOD i.e. Explosive Ordnance Disposal as a tech who was deployed in Kandahar, Afghanistan. It was when a massive explosion took place and Taylor landed on the blast cater. He could see his hands and legs flailing from his body to the air while he was thrown with a great push. However Taylor called out to the medics to safeguard the lives of the people despite of his struggling self. The medical crew took the earliest medical aid and picked up Taylor for medical assistance first by flying to Germany and then to Washington D.C.
The break of news about Taylor’s accident and the way he was transported to the hospital broke Danielle’s heart. She said she could not breath for some time and even threw up before being able to put up her mind of what she should be doing.
She rushed immediately to the required medical center and awaited his arrival. Danielle accepted that she had never encountered a tougher shock than this ever and just kept on questioning on how and why did this happen. In a surprising turn of events it was found that Taylor was the fifth survivor of the four-limb amputation and was stabilized soon.
On the homecoming even in the Cedar Falls, lowa the soldier experienced a heroic moment when the entire community came together to celebrate his heroism. Tim Dodd, Taylor’s friend made up a documentary of Taylor’s heroism and put up on the Facebook for the world to know.
Tom Hagarty, Taylor’s uncle made his contacts run and arranged for an amazing event for the welcome of the brave soldier. And the next thing we know was all of the people were going crazy on his deed and contributed in one way or the other to make his comeback a grand one. A small parade was organized on the afternoon of 30th in honor of Taylor.
Despite being the celebrated brave soldier and receiving a bronze star at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for his Valor, Taylor Morris said that if he had hands he would pin the medal on Danielle, his wife.
She was the true support and love that was around him and made him live when everything else was falling apart.
The constant care, love and help extended by her made him come back with vigor.
Today Danielle immediately quit her job as a property dealing agent and set on to take care of her husband.
Today Danielle continues to stand by Taylor and has been able to raise a whooping $250,000 for the funding of Taylor’s limbs. After prosthetics Taylor’s life has come back to a little normalcy! And the couple strives to strike a pose explaining their love for each other!
